Our History

WayPoint Center, Inc. was founded in the winter of 2005. We were given an awesome, God-directed, opportunity to purchase land in Lumpkin county near the Chestatee River. In January we officially took over management of the christian retreat center there called Eagle Rest. Eagle Rest was founded by Charlie and Ann Cox to be a place of rest, renewal, and spiritual retreat. Now called, Waypoint Retreat Center, it is used for that same purpose and also as a stopping place on the journey of the addicted. At Waypoint, an addicted man has the opportunity to stop the destructive cycle of addiction and find a new life in Christ.

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! “ Isaiah 55:1

During 2006, we added two other industries to support the life changing work of regeneration in men's lives. A new Auto Donation Program is underway to help the financial needs of WayPoint. Also we are managing a new greenhouse and nursery operation called Waypoint Nursery on Seven Mile Hill Road. 2006-2007 has seen the addition of a dynamic board of directors, new SLT leaders, and more staff to come along side us and serve God here at Waypoint Center. It has been an exciting year and a wonderful start to a long journey of faith and ministry in Dahlonega, GA.

The need for Christ-centered recovery has never been greater! The drug culture of today has spiraled to a depth that has many families crying out for answers. We know that Christ is more than a solution; He is the answer.

Waypoint ministers to up to 20 men and their families at a time. Waypoint ministers to any man over the age of 18. The WayPoint program is a one-year program. The Regeneration program is broken down into four 6-10 week components. These cover Orientation, Regeneration, Inner Healing, and Discipleship. The program also includes vital sessions for the family called Family Recovery. A man may also stay on and train as a minister and leader in Servant Leadership Training.
